Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for a test drive?

For each and every test drive we require a valid driver’s license. We make a copy of that drivers license for our vehicle file as well as write down your cell phone number to be able to reach you if necessary.

How long can I test drive for?

At JD’s we want you be confident in your purchase. We encourage test drives up to 2 hours to run errands, take it on the interstate, and even to your own preferred mechanics shop to have it thrown on a lift and inspected. If you are going to need more time than 2 hours we just ask that you let us know.

Can i take one of your cars to get inspected by my preferred shop or mechanic?

Absolutely! It is recommended to schedule those appointments in advance for when you know you’ll be test driving. Either way we encourage this.

Do you finance?

We do not personally finance any of our vehicle purchases through JD’s Auto Sales LLC. We do work with all financial institutions that you can personally seek a vehicle loan through to purchase one of our vehicles.

Will You hold a vehicle for me to purchase later?

Short answer: ONLY with a non-refundable deposit and an agreed-upon purchase date — and only if we choose to accept the arrangement.

At JD’s Auto Sales LLC, we do NOT hold vehicles without a non-refundable deposit and mutually agreed terms.

All hold requests are handled case by case, and we are not obligated to offer, accept, or approve any non-refundable deposit or hold agreement.

If we do accept a deposit and terms are agreed upon:

  • A specific purchase-by date will be set in writing.

  • The vehicle will be held until that date.

  • If the buyer does not complete the purchase in full by the agreed date, the buyer forfeits the deposit and the vehicle will be returned to the lot for public sale.

This policy ensures fairness to all customers and keeps our inventory moving responsibly.

What do I need to Purchase a vehicle?

To purchase a vehicle from JD’s Auto Sales LLC you will need to bring with you, your valid driver’s license and valid insurance card, as well as what state you will be titling your vehicle in.

How much are taxes, titles, & fees?

Taxes, titles, and fees vary based on the purchase price of the vehicle. Since we are a WV dealership we collect all taxes, titles, and fees for the state of WV and send them directly to the WV DMV. For an exact “Out the Door” price (purchase price, taxes, titles, and fees) on a specific vehicle or for a specific purchase price please call us and we’ll be happy to provide one.

Being in the Mid-Ohio Valley and on the border of OH we have a lot of customers from OH titling their vehicle in OH. For this type of transaction you will only be required to pay a processing fee, on top of the purchase price. All taxes and title and other OH BMV fees will be paid directly by you, the buyer, at and to the OH BMV. We provide you with all of the documentation you will need to take in to the OH BMV for a smooth transaction.
